Senior Primary (Grade 4 to 7)

At Pridwin each boy is challenged and encouraged to reach his full potential through active participation. From Grade 5, the boys are exposed to specialist teachers, where the emphasis is on subject teaching rather than class teaching.

Pridwin offers: English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Science, Social Science (History and Geography combined), French, Zulu, Art, Design and Technology, Music and Computers. Life Skills which includes entrepreneurial skills, problem solving, developing self-esteem and study skills rounds off the holistic curriculum. Remedial assistance is also available on the campus.

Pridwin endeavours to attract highly qualified, motivated and dedicated teachers. Numeracy, Literacy and Life Skills cover the boy's essential academic foundation. Specialists teach Physical Education, Computers, Music, Zulu and Afrikaans.

Pridwin has three state-of-the art Computer Centres. The Knowledge Network curriculum is followed from Grade 0 through to Grade 7 and the skills that are learnt are integrated into the other subjects. Each boy is allocated his own e-mail address. The academic curriculum comes alive and is given relevance through the use of interactive white boards. The Library Complex is home to a well-stocked library, a media centre with a integrated computer centre for research purposes.

Our pupils regularly take part in Mathematics and English Olympiads. The Grade 7’s write the common ISASA exams which benchmark the standard for Mathematics, English and Afrikaans.
